CONQUERORS AND MORE
Rom. 8:35, 37
“Who
shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? . . . No, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
In
the celebration of Passover it is traditional to sing the Hebrew song,
"Daiyenu," (It Would Have Been Enough). The idea of the song is that
God graciously provided whatever His people needed AND MORE! He rescued them
from bondage in Egypt, but He ALSO gave them His Word, the Law, and the joy of
His presence.
That is the thought of Romans 8:37 as well. Not only are we conquerors through
Christ, Paul writes, we are MORE than conquerors. Why? Because God has not only
SAVED us from our bondage to sin and death, He also LOVES us with an eternal
and unshakable love; and NOTHING in all of creation will ever change that!
