STAND FIRM
Eph. 6:13-14
“Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have
done everything, to stand. Stand firm then . . .”
Have
you noticed that the distance between believers and unbelievers in our society
seems to be growing wider? It's both frightening and amazing to watch the
nightly news or listen to the radio or read the newspaper and see how support
for the "right to do wrong" is surging in America. At the same
time, those who seek to glorify Christ and uphold righteousness are being ridiculed
and condemned.
Well, we shouldn't be surprised when unbelievers act in an ungodly manner. It's their nature and only God can change that. I don't think that should be our focus anyway. Here is what I think we need to be careful about . . . As Christians, we have to be absolutely sure that the gap hasn't widened because WE have backed up. It isn't about being obnoxious or militant. It’s about not personally giving in to the world's ways.
Pray that God would give you the courage and faith to trust Him and the determination to stand firm.
Well I won't back
down, No I won't back down.
You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down.
I’m gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin me down
gonna stand my ground ... and I won't back down
